How to distinguish between AC and DC power supply?

There are several ways to distinguish between AC and DC power supplies, including the following:

1. Check the voltage rating

One of the easiest ways to determine whether a power supply is AC or DC is to check the voltage rating. AC power supplies typically have voltage ratings that are given in terms of an RMS (root mean square) value, such as 120VAC or 240VAC. DC power supplies, on the other hand, typically have voltage ratings that are given in terms of a DC voltage, such as 12VDC or 24VDC.

4. Check the waveform
